• Nike Cortez – Nike's first running shoe and the first model to carry the Swoosh: Bill Bowerman finished the design back in 1968, and in 1972 the shoe appeared under the Nike name and debuted at the Munich Olympics. Its full-length midsole with a sponge rubber layer became an industry standard.
